I wanted to give this book and the whole series 5 Stars: for the plot and the wonderful back story. I wanted to give this book and the whole series 1 star: for failure to follow up on that very story. I was expecting a great romantic thriller what I got was a few chapters of this interspersed with a lot of poorly written sexual scenes. Overdone and over long, they took away from any romance or even the Murder Mysteries. The author needs to do more research in both areas. Putting out a BDSM scenes without actually knowing what it is about isn't good writing. Also, some of the scenes seem straight out of a television series. For example: Everyone is called into the Mayor's office, to be yelled at. Sorry it didn't work. I wish this author had taken the time to build the back-story to bring it forward. I noticed this author has multiple books and series out there. I wonder if they are as poorly polished as this series. I for one will never know.
Was very surprised that Patricia Logan decided to continue with an additional story about Cassidy and Zack - was very happy to once again read about this neat couple - before I read "Silver Linings", I started at the beginning and read "Armadillo Series", then "Captive Lover", "Avery Good Year" and "The Cowboy Queen", "Masters Series" and finally the "Silver Series" - wanted to catch up on all the different characters, since she does mention people from her other books - needless to say, I was not disappointed at all in this book - I also like a HEA and was pleased about the way it happened
I absolutely love the entire series, and Patricia did not disappoint at all with this next one! To see Cassidy and Zachary again was awesome. Their relationship going strong, their love for each other growing deeper every day. Another serial killer mars their happiness though, when its discovered that Zach is the target and Cassidy may be as well. Cassidy becomes the dominant one to keep his lover and Dom safe.The sex and D/s scenes are hot, sexy and true to life. I love the way she portrays the dynamic and lifestyle of this D/s couple. Very well done...and worth far more than five stars! Brilliant!!
I've read just about all of Patricia Logan's books, and while they are all excellent, Silver Linings is definitely above and beyond them. I read this in one sitting because i just couldn't put it down! Just when I thought I knew who the killer was.....WHAM! the story took another turn. If you love murder mysteries with a healthy dose of BDSM, sexy men, passion, and whodunit, then get this fantastic book right now!
I was so taken with this story, that, it became more about love and less about the kink. It didn't hurt that the ending takes place 5 minutes from my home and it is Paradise.
The characters are fantastic, the drama pulls you in from page one and winds throughout the story. I absolutely recommend this series to all!
For once the characters on this book were more honest with each other than recent books I've read.The roles they played of dominate and submissive were never blurred with stupid and reckless behavior.I felt the strength of their love for each other made the story believable.
It was good seeing Zach and Cassidy again and they did not disappoint.... the plot was fabulous and the BDSM scenes were awesome!!! Just a wonderful read!! I highly recommended this series!!!
